Hi guys,
I am establishing a small indie virtual production studio and, while on a tight budget, I want to avoid unnecessary expenses on equipment that isn't essential at this stage.
I've decided on using an IndieMark 3 Lens Encoder for focus communication between the camera and Unreal Engine. I might test it for zoom, but since I’ll mostly be using primes, a second IndieMark 3 is unlikely for now. My main point of confusion is how the IndieMark 3 should communicate with Unreal Engine.
The camera will be genlocked via a DeckLink card. In the future, I plan to add an Ultimatte 12 HD to the chain (also genlocked), but for now, keying will be done internally in UE 5.7. At this stage, is there any benefit to getting the E2E box or E2E FIZ with the IndieMark 3, or should I rely solely on Lonetsoftware? For tracking, I am using the REtracker Bliss.
